What side effects can this medication cause?
Possible side effects from using glimepiride may include:
dizziness or weakness
headache, blurred vision
mild nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain
increased skin sensitivity to sunlight
dark urine
Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:
signs of congestive heart failure (swelling or rapid weight gain, shortness of breath, chest pain)
restlessness
irritability
muscle cramps
skin rash
easy bruising or bleeding
unusual weakness
low fever
loss of appetite
dark urine
If you experience any of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately:
allergic reaction (hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat)
Call your doctor immediately if you have any of the following symptoms of hyperglycemia (high blood sugar):
extreme thirst
frequent urination
extreme hunger
weakness
blurred vision
Eat or drink a food or beverage with sugar in it, such as hard candy or fruit juice, and call your doctor immediately if you have any of the symptoms of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar):
shakiness
dizziness or lightheadedness
sweating
confusion
nervousness or irritability
sudden changes in behavior or mood
headache
numbness or tingling around the mouth
weakness
pale skin
sudden hunger
clumsy or jerky movements
seizures
Glimepiride may cause other side effects. Call your doctor if you have any unusual problems that are not mentioned above while taking this medication.
